About
Racette's Agricultural Compound
Hello and Welcome! We are the Racette’s – Jared and Ashley. Together we have slowly started farming Jared’s family land, and in 2021 were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase this beautiful piece of land! Making Jared a third-generation owner of the property. Our farm consists of 140 acres, and is located just outside the center of Templeton, Massachusetts. In the beginning of 2022, we created our farm business Racette’s Agricultural Compound or Racette’s Ag. Co. for short. We hope to establish a successful business in the agricultural industry, and to bring more local fresh farm products to our community.
Our Story
Local Family Farm
History: What’s pretty amazing is the Farm was actually in both sides of our family. As Jared always says the land chose us. Back in the 30’s the farm was in Ashley’s family as well. Belonging to her Great Great Grandparents The Erickson’s. They sold the property, and it went through a few hands before the Racette’s purchased it in the 50's, and it has now remained in the Racette’s Family for 70 years.

Jared was raised around the farm his whole life, and still remembers when his father, uncle, and grandfather where avidly running the sawmill business making pallets. When he wasn’t on the farm property, he was not too far away at his other grandfather’s business Cosentino’s Salvage. Where he is still currently employed helping to manage heavy tows, and running the machinery at the junk yard. With businesses on both sides of the family it was inevitable that he would become a business owner of his own. His knowledge of mechanics, carpentry, and welding fields has made this all possible. When any of the farm machinery isn’t running up to par Jared is always the one who is able to fix everything up, and gets the job back running smoothly. On top of that any time the farm needed lumber for many of the new repairs Jared was quick to start up the mill and create custom beams and boards that have allowed us to keep mooooving along.

Ashley is passionate about growing produce and if you don't find her in the Garden you'll probably find her reading about new regenerative practices to apply to the Farm. Coming from a family where her mother taught her all her gardening skills and her grandparents before her both worked farms not all long ago. It’s no doubt that green thumb has been passed down. A Dental Hygienist by trade when she is not on the farm she is “Tartar farming" as her co-workers call it. Working in the Dental Field locally has really given her an insight to how much people love farm fresh products, and how much of a need there is for more local produce. Ashley always says how nothing is more satisfying than eating through all her hard work and seeing all the produce go from seed to harvest. Of course, the animals are her little joys too! You can be sure to find her hanging out with the animals and calls it “therapy with the animals”. Stating that even if it's been a rough day after anyone leaves the barn you can’t help but to feel blissful!
